Splitplot Advisors

Once growing medium dries hard, water runs straight through it. The plant is already lost.

Peat, coir, bark or field soil, it makes no difference. Dry it past the point of no return and it repels water instead of holding it. You water it, it looks watered, and the plant dies three weeks later at the customer's end. BountiGel P is a powder you blend into the medium or place in the planting hole. It holds water in the rootzone so the medium never reaches that point. Fewer watering events, fewer losses after dispatch, and a plant that grades better when someone else inspects it.

The pack costs nothing. You cover FedEx from Georgia, USA, door to door. We book the collection and handle the paperwork, so all you send us is a delivery address. Most packs are on their way within a week of the address landing.

What it does

Holds water where roots are. The powder swells in the medium, then releases back to the plant instead of draining past it.

What you see

Longer between waterings. Fewer dry pockets, more even growth across the bench or the block.

What it is worth

Plants that arrive alive and grade up. Replant and beating-up costs are the number most operations already track.

Order

One pack, one protocol, one honest answer.

Ten kilos is deliberately small. It is enough to run a properly replicated trial against an untreated control and not enough to change how you operate. Tell us what you grow and where it goes, and we will send the pack with the protocol written for it.

What comes with it

A protocol built for your crop, not a leaflet.

Each protocol sets the rate, the layout, what to measure and when, and every one carries an untreated control. Free to read in full, and yours to run without us.

Container and plug propagation

Blended into the medium at the mixer

Rate
0.6 g per litreOf finished medium. Peat, coir, bark or blend, the rate does not change.
Layout
Three pairs, alternatingSame bench, same boom, same sowing date. Never one treated block at one end.
Measure
Irrigation eventsDays between waterings, root ball integrity at pulling, losses after dispatch.
Duration
One propagation cycle
10 kg treats 16.6 m³ of mediumapprox. 195,000 plug cells at 85 cm³

The cleanest trial on this list, because medium, water and bench are all under your control. If one pack is going to answer anything, it answers here.

Why an untreated control

We sell this. That is exactly why the protocol tests us.

Every hydrogel supplier quotes swelling figures from their own lab, in deionised water, in a medium you do not use. A number produced on your bench, next to an untreated control you laid out yourself, is the only one worth acting on. Every protocol uses the layout below, and the result is yours whatever it says.

Before you commit a season, Section 0 tells you what this product does in your own water, and how much capacity you lose at feed strength. It takes thirty minutes and two jars, and it is the part most suppliers leave out.
